Symposium December 2006
Cellular Therapy of Cancer Symposium
December 2nd-3rd 2006
Manchester, UK
High Calibre Presentations
The topics selected for the first day of the meeting focused on T cell Biology, Engineering T cells: TCR and Antibody based.
The second day focused on clinical applications: Vector and Cell selection, Clinical trials, open discussion of engineering T cells for the Cellular Therapy of cancer and cell manufacturing issues. Issues on the TCR structures were developed in a separate session.
The emphasis of the presentation was to promote current and new findings from both the state of the art research and a clinical perspective and 32 scientists gave oral presentations. In addition to this 23 posters were also presented.

The organising committee for this symposium was fortunate to have a number of high-calibre speakers from the EU funded Project ATTACK and from the US and Australia.
The main aim of the symposium was to review scientific research supported by the ATTACK Project,
to develop network relations with other representatives outside of the ATTACK Project and to raise state of the art science inside and outside of the network.
The meeting also provided further discussion platforms on manufacturing and regulatory issues for clinical applications of cellular therapy of cancer.
All agreed that opportunity of a collaborative approach for the dove-tailing of clinical trials to drive these therapies as quickly as possible should be encouraged.
